1. Create an account
Open Opeers, choose a nickname, enter your email address and date of birth, and create a secure password. Opeers is for people aged 18 and over. Then verify your email using the link in the message from Opeers.
2. Set up your profile
Choose an avatar or your own profile picture. Your bio, interests, languages and home region are optional. A street or exact home address is not required.
3. Choose your visibility
When you first join, you decide separately whether you want to appear on the map and who may see you. Location access and map visibility can be disabled at any time in Settings.
Other users never see your exact GPS position. Only share your location when you feel comfortable doing so.
4. Find friends
Under “Friends” you can search by friend code, send requests, and accept or decline incoming requests. A friend's profile gives you access to chat and the map.
5. Chat and waves
Message friends, share a location or destination, and send a wave. Read receipts can be restricted in Settings.
6. Home an activity
Use the action button on the map to find a place, choose an activity, and set its time and visibility. Invited people can join and chat in the activity conversation.
7. Share a moment
A map photo appears at the selected location for up to 24 hours. You choose whether it is public or visible to friends only. Do not upload private addresses or images of uninvolved people.
8. Safety
Profiles and content can be reported, users can be blocked, and friendships can be ended. In an emergency, contact the police or emergency services; Opeers is not an emergency service.
